Join the fight against evil; Pray for our nation

Saint Paul says in his letter to the Ephesians, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
We are in the midst of a battle against evil that is prevailing on our culture. “It’s a battle that many are not aware of, many don’t believe in,” says Fr. Rick Heilman, priest of the Diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, and founder of the Knights of Divine Mercy.
We need to reel people back in, says Fr. Heilman. “There’s so many attractions in the world, so many things luring men away. And right now, ever since high-speed internet, pornography is just killing off the souls of particularly men. The battle is intense and we need warriors to step up.”
So many people today don’t know what to do to combat the evil that is running rampant in our world; it may seem hopeless when we think of the terrorism and violence, decadence, immorality, hatred, and division in our culture. In the battle against evil and sin in the world, there is a clear line of defense: prayer.
The Holy League has organized a 54-day Rosary Novena for our nation that begins on August 15 and concludes on October 7, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
A novena is traditionally nine days of prayer. A 54-day Rosary novena is a series of six consecutive Rosary novenas, 27 days of petition and 27 days of thanksgiving. This follows Our Lady of the Rosary’s promise: “Whoever desires to obtain favors from Me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving.”
